Marine outfall Roberts Bay, Nunavut, Feb-Oct 2011
Current profile and water property data were required for a proposed marine outfall in Roberts Bay, related to the development of the Hope Bay mine in Nunavut.
Moorings were deployed through the ice starting in February 2011, and later in open water, with final recovery in October. Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (ADCP) were used to collect water velocity profile data and CTDs to measure water parameters (temperature, salinity, and dissolved oxygen).
